BlockNow covers crypto, finance, and global markets, and readers deserve to know exactly how we operate. These editorial policies are our way of being upfront about that, how stories get picked, how errors get handled, and what to do if something feels off. No fine print, no corporate boilerplate.
Ethics Policy
Crypto and finance stories affect real people making real financial decisions. That is why we take this seriously.
Nobody paying us ads or sponsoring content gets a say in what we write. That includes the big names. Our team picks stories because they matter to readers, full stop. If a story makes a partner uncomfortable but it needs to be out there, we publish it anyway.
Writers and editors here are expected to flag any personal financial positions or relationships that touch the stories they are working on. If something comes up, we sort it out before the article goes anywhere near publication.
Corrections Policy
Mistakes happen. When they do, we fix the article and leave a note at the bottom with what changed and when. No hiding it, no pretending it was always right.
Spotted something we missed? Contact page, send it over. We actually read these.
Diversity Policy
Good journalism needs a wide range of voices, and that is something we actively work on. Sources, analysts, and contributors from different backgrounds, geographies, and areas of expertise are sought out on purpose, because the markets we cover are global and our coverage should also reflect that.
This is not a box-ticking exercise. Diverse sourcing leads to more accurate and more complete reporting, and we continue to expand our contributor network with this in mind.
Editorial Policy
BlockNow covers the intersection of crypto, traditional finance, and global markets. Our editorial policies on coverage priorities are pretty straightforward:
- Breaking news that moves markets and has a direct financial impact on readers.
- Guides and explainers that give people the background they need to actually follow what is going on.
- Analysis of macro trends, regulatory shifts, and technologies that are changing how finance works right now.
We do not publish content to pump assets or serve undisclosed commercial interests. Sponsored content is always labeled. We are here to inform, not to sell.
Fact-Checking Policy
Nothing goes live here without the claims being sourced first. We start with primary sources, official reports, filings, on-chain data, direct quotes from named people, that kind of thing.
If we are working with secondary sources, we check them against each other before anything gets published. And if something is opinion or analysis rather than straight reporting, that is made clear upfront so you know what you are reading.
Unnamed Sources Policy
Unnamed sources are a last resort here, not a habit. Off the record requests get evaluated case by case. The information still needs a second source backing it up before it goes anywhere near publication. And anonymity is not something handed out to people looking to take shots at someone without putting their name to it. The editor knows who these people are, and that does not change.
Feedback Policy
We actually want to hear from readers. If something looks wrong, feels like it is missing context, or raises a concern, the Contact page is the right place to start.
Everything gets reviewed. Anything serious goes straight to the editor. We have made corrections, published follow-ups, and changed how we approach certain topics because someone took the time to write in. That kind of feedback genuinely shapes how we do things here.
