Coinbase is expanding its reach. It is no longer a platform just where people go to buy crypto. It is emerging as a place to trade almost everything. The company has rolled out Coinbase stock trading to all eligible US users. Through this, the exchange is opening access to more than 8,000 listed stocks and ETFs inside the same app that holds their crypto. Coinbase’s latest leap comes in partnership with Yahoo Finance.

How Coinbase Stock Trading and Yahoo Finance Shape a New Investing Era

It is worth noting that Yahoo Finance draws more than 150 million global visitors each month. Through this partnership, users can move from researching a stock on Yahoo Finance directly to executing the trade on Coinbase. The jump from reading market news to placing an order now takes seconds rather than minutes. The firm said,
“As part of this partnership, Yahoo Finance users can also enjoy a free 1-month trial of Coinbase One Basic. This partnership ensures traders have the resources they need to thrive in an increasingly “always-on” market across asset classes. “
This collaboration arrives as Coinbase deepens its push into equities. The platform now supports Coinbase ETF trading alongside individual stocks. This also offers commission-free trades and fractional shares starting at $1. That lowers the entry barrier by a huge margin. ETFs alone held roughly $8.4 trillion in assets in the US as of late 2025.

Coinbase’s CEO Brian Armstrong has framed the expansion as part of a larger ambition to build what he calls an “everything exchange.” The exchange wrote,
“Our Everything Exchange vision is about removing artificial boundaries between asset classes and building for the next generation of markets. This expansion is a foundational step toward unifying traditional investments and digital assets into a single platform, simplifying portfolio management and unlocking what comes next.“

This even includes plans for tokenized stocks. Through this, equities will be able to exist directly on blockchain infrastructure. Tokenization could fundamentally change how assets move and settle. Boston Consulting Group estimates that tokenized global assets could reach $16 trillion by 2030.
