Solana Price Could Top $100 in August Despite Staking Disruption

Solana price

Solana’s price is facing an unusual test this month. Network activity is running at record levels, fresh ETF money is coming in, and traders are once again watching the $100 mark. At the same time, a staking disruption briefly pushed a large chunk of staked SOL offline. The incident has added a wrinkle to the August Solana price prediction, but the market has not exactly backed away.

Solana Staking Disruption Came Close to a Halt

Roughly 28.83% of staked SOL went offline following a routing failure, putting the network just 4.5 percentage points below the 33.34% threshold. This is where Solana can lose the two-thirds supermajority needed to finalize transactions. The network recovered without a full halt. But the incident exposed how a problem affecting a handful of major validators can quickly become much more serious. It also comes as Solana continues to see heavy usage, with daily transactions reaching a record 171.9 million on August 10, excluding validator votes.

The incident could also strengthen the case for Solana’s upcoming Alpenglow upgrade, which aims to bring transaction finality down to roughly 100-150 milliseconds while changing how the network handles offline and faulty validators. Currently, the disruption has not stopped the bullish story around SOL, but it gives investors another risk to look at what awaits in terms of price during the month of August.

The bigger question for traders is if the activity behind the scenes can finally translate into a meaningful move in the SOL price. Solana ETFs recorded about $8.8 million in net inflows on August 10, their strongest daily inflow since May 12, according to data.

CoinCodex’s August forecast puts Solana’s maximum price at $107.43, with an average of $90.23 and a projected low of $76.82. That puts the $100 level within the asset’s expected range for the month, though SOL would still need to push above its recent trading range to get there.

At press time, Solana was trading at $76.85 following a rise of 1.35% over the past 24 hours. This surge comes after a rather eventful week as the altcoin jumped from a low of $72 to its current price.
