The race between the artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency arenas is taking an interesting turn. In a latest contrast drawn by the Coin Bureau tweet, Anthropic’s valuation is now nearing Bitcoin’s market cap, while its rival OpenAI is facing questions over slower revenue growth and widening losses. Anthropic was valued at $965B after raising $65B in a Series H funding round. That valuation has put Anthropic ahead of OpenAI’s earlier $852B valuation. The contrast is suggestive of how AI spending and strategy have now become a core pillar of the current financial realm, with the tech ready to dominate major market sectors.

The latest Anthropic valuation comes as the company prepares to post rapid growth across its Claude AI business. Anthropic’s annualized revenue run rate is at $65B, from $47B in May 2025. This development shows how fiercely the company has secured a a leading space in the market and is aiming steadily to move ahead to hit the top market spot.

The company is also aiming for a full-fledged Anthropic IPO, which may eventually put its valuation around $2T. Some investors reportedly expect a potential Anthropic IPO to command a valuation of $2T or more. This momentum reflects how Anthropic is leaving no stone unturned to top the AI race. In its recent feat, Claude has successfully designed novel protein binders from scratch, bringing the element of AI into the medical science sector.

Open AI Growth Slows

While Anthropic valuation talks continue to thrive, its rival company OpenAI’s growth has stalled, posting losses in the process. The company generated $6.7B in Q2 as revenue, which is an 18% increase, from the previous quarter. At the same time, its operating loss widened by $9.3B to $12.3B. As compared to Anthropic, the company generated $11.6B in Q2 revenue, overtaking OpenAI revenue or the first time and recording a small operating profit.

This contrast has added another layer of a competitive streak to both the companies.

Anthropic vs. Bitcoin Angle

A new tweet posted by Coin Bureau has brought forth an interesting insight. The Anthropic vs. Bitcoin comparison is gaining momentum, as Anthropic’s valuation is now moving closer to Bitcoin’s market capitalization.

Polymarket traders are also actively looking at this narrative. 60% of traders on Polymarket currently price a chance that Anthropic may surpass Bitcoin’s market cap at some point before the end of 2026. The market specifically asks whether Anthropic’s valuation will surpass Bitcoin’s market capitalization before December 31, 2026.

The Anthropic IPO could be a game-changer element when it comes to the Anthropic vs. Bitcoin debate. Continued revenue growth and sustained demand for AI may help Anthropic to beat its rival and, at the same time, surpass BTC’s market cap. However, what is important is that Anthropic’s revenue progress is indicative of how artificial intelligence is now evolving, becoming a bigger force across technology, business, and financial markets.
