Anthropic Eyes $2T IPO as $6B Decart Deal Threatens SpaceX Record

Anthropic IPO

SpaceX’s record IPO seems to have a challenger. Anthropic is heading toward a potential public listing that investors believe could value the Claude maker at more than $2 trillion. This is a figure that would put it ahead of SpaceX’s $1.77 trillion debut. The Anthropic IPO story is getting more interesting by the day. This comes after a reported multibillion-dollar acquisition potentially giving the company another way to strengthen its AI business.

Anthropic IPO Could Challenge SpaceX’s Record

SpaceX raised $75 billion in its June IPO at $135 a share. This gives the company an implied valuation of about $1.77 trillion. It remains the largest IPO on record.

Anthropic now has investors pointing to a much bigger number. The company was valued at $965 billion after raising $65 billion in May. Meanwhile, its run-rate revenue had already crossed $47 billion. Anthropic said the new funding would help expand computing capacity as demand for Claude continues to grow.

This makes the jump to a $2 trillion Anthropic valuation look less detached from reality than it would have a year ago. Still, doubling a valuation in the public markets is a very different challenge from doing it in private funding rounds. An Anthropic investor said,

“It’s easy to come up with challenges. But the company continues to be in first position in performance, positioning and what people want exposure to.”

Anthropic Decart Deal Adds Another Piece

The latest development is a reported deal that could make the growth story even more ambitious. Anthropic is in talks to acquire Israeli AI startup Decart for around $6 billion. The deal is still under discussion and could fall apart. But it would give Anthropic access to technology and talent focused on improving AI performance and efficiency.

This matters because computing has become one of the biggest constraints for AI companies. Anthropic is already spending heavily to expand its infrastructure, and improving how efficiently its models run could become increasingly valuable as Claude usage climbs.

Decart would also deepen Anthropic’s presence in Israel, where AI adoption has seen major growth, and the startup ecosystem has become an important source of engineering talent.

The $2T Target Won’t Come Without Risks

The bullish case still faces some obvious hurdles. Anthropic is competing against OpenAI, Google, and increasingly capable Chinese AI companies. Meanwhile, businesses are becoming more conscious of the cost of running advanced models.

This is what makes the SpaceX IPO comparison so interesting. SpaceX proved investors were willing to put an extraordinary valuation on a company tied to the next big technology frontier. Anthropic now has to convince public-market investors that its growth can support an even larger number.
