XRP’s exchange balances have dropped by more than 57% over the past six months, yet discussions about the asset’s true potential continue to intensify. Crypto enthusiast Bill Morgan recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to resurface an excerpt from a 2013 blog titled The Promise of Ripple by Felix Salmon, which is an article he claims was buried by the pro‑Bitcoin lobby.

Bill Morgan Revives Ripple Article from 2013, Highlights XRP’s Superiority Over Bitcoin

In a post on X, Morgan claims that Felix Salmon’s blog, published in 2013, has been suppressed, particularly because it highlighted the advantages of XRP over Bitcoin, which could have impacted Bitcoin’s market dominance. He goes on to say that “early positive voices about XRP” were drowned out by Bitcoin propaganda.
Morgan writes:
”What is really incredible in the history of crypto is the stunning success of bitcoin propaganda to drown out these early positive voices about $XRP”
Morgan then refers to the fact that Grok, the AI agent on X, states the article has been taken down, while it is still available on Reuters. He also points out that U.S. officials redacted Felix Salmon’s positive comments about XRP from the controversial Epstein files released in 2026.
Morgan’s comments have reignited the XRP vs Bitcoin debate. With the release of Ripple validation data, some community members argue that XRP may have lost early momentum due to this sidelining.

XRP vs Bitcoin Comparison
Bitcoin, launched in 2009, has always been ahead of XRP, launched in 2012, in terms of market cap. While both have suffered due to recent market volatility and other factors, with Bitcoin dropping significantly, XRP is still no match for Bitcoin.
XRP advocates point out the asset’s utility to facilitate faster cross-border fund transfers, along with its transparent nature, as advantages in comparison to Bitcoin. According to experts, the asset does hold potential given XRP’s history.
XRP Performance and Price Prediction
XRP’s recent performance reflects the broader market sentiment. Even with a 34.35% drop in one month, experts suggest the future looks promising.
