Gold Price Climbs Above $4,200 as Solana’s Tokenized Gold Market Jumps 689%

Gold price

The gold price climbed above $4,200 this week, reaching its highest level in about a month as investors returned to safe-haven assets amid geopolitical uncertainty and improving liquidity conditions. The latest gold rally has fueled brand new interest in physical metal and Gold ETFs. But another sector of the market is also benefiting. As demand for the precious metal grows, tokenized gold is gaining momentum, with Solana emerging as a winner that wasn’t expected.

Spot gold extended its gains after renewed buying from investors who wanted protection against economic and geopolitical risks. According to the World Gold Council, global Gold ETF holdings recorded net inflows of roughly 170 tonnes worth about $18 billion during the second quarter of 2026. This shows renewed institutional demand for the metal.

The rally has also been supported by improving liquidity. Data shared by Global Markets Investor showed global M2 money supply growth accelerated to 9% year over year. This is up from 8% in 2024. The firm also noted that Gold ETF inflows have reached $13.1 billion in recent months. Citing Fidelity’s gold model, it said the metal has closely tracked changes in global liquidity since 2022. This suggests that the current gold rally could still have room to run.

Separately, market data showed gold and silver added a combined $1.3 trillion in value over the past 24 hours. It should be noted that gold accounted for more than $1.1 trillion of that increase.

Solana Beats Rival Blockchains in Tokenized Gold

While traditional investors continue buying the asset, the rally is also moving into blockchain markets. According to data from Birdeye and RWA.xyz, Solana has become the fastest-growing network for tokenized gold. It should be noted that its market capitalization has surged 689% since August 2025. This growth has taken over Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Polygon, and Stellar.

Unlike cryptocurrencies that move independently of traditional markets, tokenized gold gives investors blockchain-based exposure to the physical metal. Solana’s lower transaction costs and faster settlement speeds have made it an increasingly attractive network for issuing and transferring gold-backed assets.

The strength in the gold market and its price is no longer limited to traditional assets. As more investors explore tokenized gold, Solana is establishing itself as the leading blockchain for the sector.
