Jensen Huang’s visit to South Korea put the spotlight back on Nvidia’s supply chain as the company prepares for the next phase of its AI rollout. During the trip, Huang confirmed that Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron had all qualified to supply HBM4 memory for Nvidia’s upcoming Vera Rubin platform. The announcement came alongside a new multiyear partnership between Nvidia and SK Hynix, one of the company’s closest memory partners.

The headline from Huang’s trip was not just the new agreement with SK Hynix. It was the confirmation that Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron have all qualified to supply HBM4 memory for Nvidia’s Vera Rubin systems.

HBM4 memory is expected to play a central role in the next generation of AI infrastructure as models become larger. It requires faster data movement between processors and memory. Nvidia said Vera Rubin has entered production and is expected to begin shipping to major cloud providers later this year. This includes Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle.

According to supply-chain estimates, SK Hynix and Nvidia shipments could account for roughly 60% to 70% of HBM4 volumes for Vera Rubin, with Samsung supplying about 25% to 30%. Nvidia has not publicly disclosed exact allocation figures.

The positive news around Nvidia came against a difficult backdrop for South Korean markets. The KOSPI fell sharply on Monday and briefly triggered a circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Samsung and SK Hynix were among those who registered the biggest losses across the market.

Huang’s comments also arrived at a time when investors have been closely watching NVDA stock for signs of how the firm plans to secure enough advanced memory to support future AI demand.

South Korea Becomes More Important to Nvidia’s AI Plans

Nvidia announced a multiyear technology partnership with SK Hynix focused on next-generation memory development and semiconductor manufacturing. The companies said they will also work together on areas such as AI-assisted chip design, simulation tools, and factory automation.

It was reported that Nvidia expanded partnerships across South Korea during Huang’s trip, including agreements involving SK Group affiliates, Naver, LG Group, and Hyundai Motor.

For Nvidia stock investors, the developments offered another reminder that the race to build AI infrastructure increasingly depends on access to advanced memory and manufacturing capacity. These are areas where South Korean companies remain central to the global supply chain.
